A Personalized Gift Nightmare
I often look for creative or unique presents for Christmas. However, if anyone out there concludes that shopping for personalized gifts is like purchasing ordinary gifts, do think again. Think hard and think long. I recently purchased one of these, I won’t mention the site because I’m an embroidery digitizer. I make products that the personalized gift vendors sell and incredibly, these people are actually some of my customers! But these guys, whose ad I stupidly clicked on, were quick to take my money , but satisfaction was not their strong point.
It turned out that many people were complaining about this store, but since I did not ask around in advance, I didn’t find out until it was too late. This was a lesson in how not to do things…my advice is take a little time to Google the company and ask your friends. It’s only your friends who have no vested interest in the decisions you make.
Anyways, I digress… The item I purchased was custom made and not only do you need to purchase this stuff wayyy in advance, some of these people (and I use that temr loosely) they really dig up a lot of rules for you to follow when there’s a problem.
So, be very careful about…
1. Give them the correct spelling right from the start and
2. Order far in advance so that a mistate can be fixed. And! Don’t forget.. 3. Determine how nice their customer service is BEFORE you order.
Good luck!
P.S. Here’s page about interesting personalized gifts that I really liked…
